Igor's Birthday at Sac Be

Sac Be Eco-House near Playa del Carmen

Sooooo glad I decided to stay another day here in Playa del Carmen! I have a Mexican friend named Igor whom I met in San Luis Potosi a few years ago. He moved to the Yucatan a couple years ago but only recently to Playa del Carmen.

Well, it just so happened to be his birthday and he invited me to celebrate with he and his friends in this way cool Eco-House community called Sac Be near Playa del Carmen.

He and this cool french dude named Vincent picked me up in an old Gran Marquis and off into the jungle we went.

Over the day and night awesome folks mostly in their 20's I think came and went. There was juggling, some strange fruit brew, beer & various other party-centric substances.

When it got hot, we all went down into this private cenote cave. You had to go almost straight down a slippery primitive ladder holding onto ropes & jump down about 13 feet into a deep fresh-water cenote. There were holes at the roof of the cave letting in just enough light to illuminate the turquoise water. Amazing! We went into it around dusk as well.

The party is still going on today, but I decided really should get mobile. So, I'll check out Tulum ruins today if the weather holds up & then move on early tomorrow morning for Bacalar.
